RecallDeckStudy

Last updated: 2026-08-13

RecallDeckStudy is an offline flashcard app that schedules your reviews with the Leitner spaced-repetition system. This policy describes what RecallDeckStudy does and does not do with your data. The short version: RecallDeckStudy does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics — everything stays on your device.

1Information we collect

None. RecallDeckStudy has no sign-up, no user account and no server of its own, so there is nothing for us to collect. We never see your decks, your answers or your progress. The only text you can enter that resembles personal information is an optional display name on the profile screen — it is written to your device's local storage and is never sent anywhere.

2Data stored on your device

To make the app work, RecallDeckStudy stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:

  • Your decks and flashcards — the built-in study sets plus any deck or card you create, including its title, colour and icon (stored in a local Hive database).
  • Review history for each card — its Leitner box, due date and how many times you rated it Forgot, Good or Easy.
  • Study statistics — total reviews, correct answers, per-day review counts, current and best day streak, and perfect-session count.
  • Achievements you have unlocked and your mastery milestones.
  • Study preferences — daily new-card limit, session size, whether cards start front-first, and whether the deck is shuffled.
  • A display name you may optionally type on the profile screen (it defaults to “Learner”), and the date you first opened the app.

This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to RecallDeckStudy or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.

3Permissions

None. The Android manifest declares no runtime permissions at all — no internet, camera, location, microphone, contacts or storage access is requested. The only entry beyond the launcher activity is the standard Flutter text-processing query used by the system text selection menu.

4Network use

There is none. The app makes no HTTP requests, opens no sockets and contacts no backend; it does not even hold the Android INTERNET permission. Every feature — the built-in decks, the scheduler, the charts and the achievements — runs entirely on-device and works in airplane mode.

5Third-party services

No analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDK is integrated — there is no Firebase, no AdMob, no Crashlytics and nothing comparable. The app's packages (Hive and shared_preferences for local storage, Provider for state, fl_chart for the stats charts, confetti for the session animation, and share_plus) are all on-device libraries. share_plus is used only when you tap Share on the profile screen: it hands a short promotional text to your operating system's share sheet, and whichever app you then pick handles it under its own privacy policy.

6Children's privacy

RecallDeckStudy is safe for all ages and is suitable for students of any age. Because it collects no data whatsoever, there is nothing that could be gathered from a child under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), so it complies with COPPA and GDPR-K by design. We do not knowingly — or unknowingly — hold personal information about anyone.

7Your rights

Since no data ever reaches us, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase on your behalf — you already have complete control. You can rename or delete any deck or card from inside the app, and clearing the app's storage from your device settings or uninstalling RecallDeckStudy permanently removes every deck, review record, statistic and preference described above. Note that this also means your progress is not backed up to any cloud: an uninstall is irreversible.

8Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
